Sermon Title: Before Being sent
Date: Sunday, January 14, 2018
Location: Peace Fellowship Church
On Sunday January 14, I had the privilege of preaching at Peace Fellowship Church in Washington DC. My passage was Luke 15:11-24, the parable of the Prodigal Son. In this sermon I present insight into this parable from the perspective of my Navajo culture.
This service was also the first Sunday after President Trump used vulgar and racist language when referring to immigrants from Haiti and Africa and openly asked why the US was not instead accepting more immigrants from nations like Norway. So I began my sermon by first addressing not only the lie white supremacy endorsed by our President, but also how the church and the nation are complicit in perpetuating this racist lie.
