FORT DEFIANCE, ARIZONA – When Navajo Mark Charles reads the apology to American Indians next month that was buried in a Congressional appropriations bill three years ago with the US Capitol Building in the background, he hopes the apology can be read in as many Native languages as possible.

A couple weeks ago I had the privilege of grabbing coffee with Mark Charles while he was passing through Phoenix on his way to a conference in Tucson. Mark lives on a Navajo Reservation in northern Arizona, and is doing some wonderful work related to reconciliation, development, and contextualized worship.
